Running late for my life...

Hmmm.... it's the 6th of December and no December Daily post yet. eek! You think that's late, actually I bought the album to do it last Christmas and didn't do it at all!

Anyways I have some photos of it to post, the photography is extremely average the light isn't good today but I really didn't want to use it as a reason to procrastinate.

The December Daily is an album to record all those things you do in December, all those fun Christmasy things that you forget about because you're so freakin busy. If you want to read up on it pop on over to Ali's blog and have a read.

I don't print my photos at home, so it will be empty for a little while, I might get to print some every week hopefully.

I will pop up a few photos every day, so check in and let me know what you think.

Soooooooo, the album isn't really fluro orange it just looks that way. Felt is bad to photograph, partly it's the fabric and partly my photography skills or lack thereof. I like the album though, it came with a few pieces of random shapes papers and generally a December daily is done that way, a bit different than my regular albums and I love the freedom of it.
Album by Making Memories

The title page was pretty easy work as the title had to fit into that small space.
Love this paper.
Paper - Making Memories Noel, Lettering - Making Memories Reverie

I am loving my Tim Holtz distress ink, can you tell? Walnut Stain is my favourite, everyone else seems to like TeaDye better but not me. For some reason in a small album or mini's I ink everything and in my 12x12's I don't use ink at all. Random. Who knew I had these ink rules.

Papers - Kaisercraft Poinsettias - Hero Arts Ribbon - May Arts Cuttlebug folder - Swiss Dots Cardstock - Bazzill Merry Christmas Metal tag - Kmart ha!

I decided not to put numbers on my pages early on in case I want to move them around, I will add them though as I put the photos on.
Papers - Kasiercraft Embellishment - K & Co

Off to prepare dinner now... life getting in the way of my crafting again!
Happy December

Just a little card today...

I know I said I'd have my December daily up today oops! I have done it I just haven't photographed it. I might get it done today yet, we'll see.

I made this simple wee card for a sweet lady Beth, who gives me these bags of ribbon scraps so that I can take them to Kindergarten for crafts. Just this week I received another bag full of red and green ribbons perfect for the children's Christmas cards. I am so grateful for this, Kindergarten doesn't always have the budget to do all the things we wish to do. She may never know how her kindness effects these little people, but I'm lucky enough to see them light up when they finish their creations and proudly take them home. I may just have to take the camera on Monday to see if I can capture a couple of those moments.

Anyways that was a lot of babbling for one little card!

Poor neglected blog...

I was hoping to wait a while longer little blog before I started neglecting you... my enthusiasm has not gone, I am just struggling to find time where there is none. I am so very busy but don't have a heap to show for it. I have filled a bunch of orders and custom items but since they are for customers I won't put them up on here, so it looks like I have been lazing about when that is far from the case. A couple of things I can share are some journals/mini albums I have been doing. I had some orders for these and just made a few more for the shop.

Also we had a fab weekend, friends over for the day Saturday BBQing etc, and then went to the Groynes with a dear friend and her children on Sunday, so technically I have been lazing about, but it's summer and life is for living, not just scrapbooking.

Speaking of scrapbooking, I am soooo behind, I am never usually behind, when I used to design for the shop I always needed photos to work on, now because I'm crafting in so many different areas I have a huge pile. I'm a little excited about it though, it is my first love after all. Maybe after Christmas when we're on holiday I might get a little half day to myself where I can fall in love with it again. I so hope so.

No blog posts for ages and then I get here and you can't shut me up!
Anyways I will be back tomorrow with my December Daily Album because tomorrow is December eeek!

A good Saturday

One of the things I love most about crafting is that it is very much a shared activity. I am by far more productive on my own but I adore getting together with friends to make stuff. Mainly making conversation....

Anyways, this past Saturday I got together with a couple of girls and we laughed and laughed and laughed, and by chance made a thing or two. They were working on Christmas cards, I was working on random items.

This is what I rustled up:

Books and Bands

You would have thought after last weekend's hair clip madness I would have been over it, apparently not so. I whipped up a bunch more rosey clips in a different style and some bands.

Pretty simple styles but cute I think:

Also I have been working on some journals, well they're kind of journals, I thought they would be cute as mini albums too. So I made sure I used nice cardstock inside just in case.

That's all for today but I hope to have more to share tomorrow.

I have been busy ...

It has been hair clip central here. I got this order for some custom hair clips, not a problem, I'm onto it. My problem is I can't ever just do the order and leave it at that, I get so carried away. So the entire weekend has been about hair clips, doesn't exactly gel together with the fact that it was our wedding anniversary! We had dinner together, surely that must count.

Anyways, sharing the hair clip love.....

Embarking on the world of Blogging

Well here I am, I'm really not so sure about the whole blogging thing but I'm here throwing myself in. So many friends have said "Oh you'd be great at it, you should do it", I think they're meaning I may have too much to say and please say it to someone other than me. Great friends, I know, I can see you're envious.

Anyways, this will mainly be about crafting, the life of a SAHM however riveting, does resemble Groundhog Day most of the time. You never know though, I may pop in some very exciting tid bits about Potty training because I know you're all holding your breath for it.

So I make stuff, that's what I do, it's my happy place and a place where I have found some fabulous friends. No one "gets you" like the crafty girls do. I was so going to start this in the new year but I really want to get started and perhaps by the new year I will have posts and maybe by then someone might actually read it!
If you are reading this, God bless you.
