Project Life Day!

Hey Everyone!

I'm sharing my Project Life today....

Closeups:

My faves for this week are Phia learning to peel vegetables and the bunny adventure.
I know my project life lovers know this but for anyone else, pretty much all of the stories on this page would not have made it into one of my big scrapbooks, I love that, I love that my stories are here.

Thanks for dropping by...
Have a great day

This baby...

This baby is the light of my life. I really need to start doing a bit more work on her album... oh you know... like start it, or else she is never going to know how much I adore her and what an awesome, easy, sweet, gorgeous baby she was. I will forget all the details unless I write them down, so I really need to get to it.

I participated in a challenge over at 2peas this week which was the perfect time to whip out a page. The challenge included a cutting file for the Silhouette so that was a great bonus. I adore this MME paper, this time I cut out a couple of duplicates and popped them up on foam adhesive. I also cut a few others out and added a vellum with script on it behind.

So here's my page:

I included this detail photo to show the silver paper behind the cut, you can't tell in the first flat image.

My favourite part was a quote I had written down in my journal, it describes just how I feel about GG, it just fit perfectly.
"And then my soul saw you and it kind of went, "Oh there you are, I've been looking for you".
Love that.

Have a fab day

It's project life day....

Hiya!

A quick post from me today to share my Project Life.
I've had visitors this morning, which was lovely but it's put me out of synch with my PL post. ha!
Everyone knows Wednesday is PL day. Well maybe not everyone, maybe just me.
Anyways... enough rambling...

Use your stash....

I love use your stash challenges because let's face it, it is harder to get out those older supplies when we have brand new ones calling our name. I still like most of my older stuff  and a challenge gives me a little kick to not take the easy way out. Scrappin Patch are having some challenges - posted on Wednesday's so if you're keen to join in you can find them here

The only real stipulations this week were: you couldn't have purchased any of the product this year, except for cardstock. That was actually not too hard... but I must admit I did get a couple of things out and then thought, oh they're probably too new. The newest thing I think used is those SC rubon stars and they are probably 2011.

Here is my page:

Edited to add product list:
Papers: Blue Alpha & Yellow Scrap (Ki Memories), Green (DCWV), Spot (October Afternoon), Graph (MME Lush). Stickers & Star Rubons (Studio Calico). Lettering: Alpha used for outline and numbers (American Crafts).

One thing to keep in mind when using older things, is some things actually don't keep very well. That science rubon took a fair bit of love and attention to get down. So use up those rub on's or else they may not work!

Have a great day all

Friday night cards...

Their is something extremely satisfying about end of the day crafting for me.
It's that feeling that everyone is where they need to be, children in bed, jamie amusing himself with some comedy on the tv or on the computer and me pottering about crafting.
It is the time of day when I get to exhale and although I don't wish my days away, I do look forward to it. I love the quiet and there is not a lot of quiet in my day.

So last night I made a couple of cards...

Have a blessed day all,

I have been enjoying the weekly challenges over at 2peas and try and squeeze one into my week now and then. This week's colour combination one interested me so I gave it a go.

This is the colour combo:

This image is from design seeds and they are awesome, if you are lacking in inspiration you can check them out here. They have every combination imaginable, makes me want to scrapbook all day long!

So here is my page....

I didn't have quite the right aqua and turquoise but I made do with what was laying around.

Lily Bee August Sketch

I really like Lily Bee and I had bought up some of their papers a few months ago and had been hoarding them. Hoarding them for some special occasion apparently ha! I have to remind myself that I really do enjoy my supplies more once they're actually on a page.

I really love their tone on tone dot papers, they are my favourite and so darn useable. So I popped over to their blog and saw a sketch that caught my eye and decided to give it a go.
There are lots of great ideas on that blog if you want to check it out go here.
Here is the sketch:

And here is my page, I actually followed the sketch a lot closer than usual, it just seems to work out that way.

 And some details:

I used all Lily Bee products, except for the two Amy Tangerine stamps (arrow and "the best") and the Studio Calico veneers that I coloured grey with my chalk ink.
I am really happy with this one, and pleased to have done a page about Jamie as it's been a long while.
Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day

Challenge me happy #27

I decided this week to join in on the Challenge me happy Challenge on their blog. If you would like to check it out, you can find there blog here. It was a recipe challenge which are always fun. No baking involved. Just a list of ingredients.

The list was:
  • one or more stamps
  • two photos
  • ribbon or twine or both
  • two or more paper clips
  • no cardstock
  • three patterened papers or more
This is the page I came up with:

and some detail shots:

Well that was fun! It's about time I started working on some of GG's pages and challenges are a great way to get a little push.

Have a fab day

Project Life update ....

Well it's a rainy gloomy day in Christchurch today... a perfect day for baking and blogging and crafting. Sounds a little ambitious so I will start with the blogging. Sophia is laying on the couch after a night of being unwell so I better type quick.

I have a couple of weeks of Project Life to share...

Closeups:

I was trying this week to include some more variety, it's so easy to just fill it with the photos of the girls which is lovely, but sometimes it's more valuable to add info even if there is no photo. I included a  pocket with info about the football and about jamie's tv shows. On the left side there is actually only one pocket with a photo but lots of stories.

My favourite for this week is the kid stamping pocket... I just like how it turned out.
The word art in the top right pocket is a free printable from itworksforbobbie.com, Bobbi has some awesome items that she shares so go check her out! Thanks Bobbi.

On to the next week:

Closeups:

One of the great benefits with Project Life is the ability to use up a lot of scraps, I am a scrap collector at the best of times.
I mean it's pretty bad, friends will actually take a scrap back out of the bin in the middle of the table and say, oh you probably want that, and yes I do. But in my defense I do use them, I have always loved the look of mixed patterned papers and I am having a lot of fun using up even my smallest scraps in PL.

The other part I'm really enjoying is using up some super old stuff, it really gives me a thrill. The coffee title and the playtime title are both rubons from 2008/2009. I mean firstly I should get points for using rubons and then the rubons should get some points for still working after all this time.
Honestly I still like those items now and it feels so good to put them to work.

The Lego stickers in the middle pocket are so old, but they don't have a date on them, I bought so many of that style, they were Sonnets, produced my Creative Imaginations... anyone else remember them?

Anyways, my favourite for this week are the two pockets along the bottom of this page... with GG at the crop. That baby is awesome.

I'm off to see what else I can get done before Sophia wakes up.

Have a blessed day
Hayley.

A little behind....

You know the things that make me behind on projects are never big epic things, they are things like, the other week I went in to get my photos printed and somehow I managed to muck them up.
Things have been a bit hectic lately and I dunno what I did but a whole bunch of photos had been resized so small I couldn't even print them.

Then sick children and a postponed birthday party got in the way... so I am here and a little behind. But with the birthday all done yesterday I was so happy to get that one pocket finished on this page so I could share it. So here we go....

Closeup's:

One of my favourites for this week is the football related one in the second pocket down, I'm trying hard to remember to include things about the husband.

My other favourite for this week was the middle pocket. I used a super old piece of printed acetate (I placed a white piece of paper behind for photographic purposes) I love how it looks.

Thanks for coming by, I'm hoping to get another one up tomorrow.
Have a blessed day people,
Hayley

Quickie Kiddie Cards

I have had a plethora of children's birthday parties going on and I can honestly say I'm getting a little burnt out of making kiddie cards. I usually love it but like anything, if you do it too much you get over it. We had four birthday's in the weekend and I remembered to take pictures of two cards, it was almost none, hence the very average photos. The time I was going to spend taking pictures of the cards was spent running around the neighbourhood after a bunny that kept going on the road.

I apologise for the super crappy lighting, that's what we get last minute. So I bought this huge A2 sheet of silver paper to make star's from when Liv's class did their learning celebration and I thought their was no way I would ever use it. Well wouldn't you know it I used it on both of these cards for the name plate. I did both of these on the Cameo and the Tiara was super fast, I am seriously going to cut some of them and have them ready to go.

Anyways, in case you didn't get over my bad lighting, something to cheer you up...

Adorable isn't he, now you can see why I was out trying to keep him out of traffic.
Have a great day
